Imagine...a stony, volcanic, eight-square-mile island with no fresh water and little workable land as a vacation destination?! This is St. Barthélemy (St. Barths) named for Christopher Columbus' brother, Bartolomeo and it is absolutely beautiful! In the 17th century it was under French rule. The French leased it to Sweden in the 18th century in return for trading rights, but in the 19th century French rule was once again restored. It is located near the northern end of the Lesser Antilles group in the West Indies, 15 miles east of St. Martin and has a population of about 6,500 people.
With beautiful beaches that lend themselves to deep-sea fishing, scuba and snorkeling, windsurfing, sailing and just plain relaxing with a cool drink in your hand, it is a superb place to go, have fun and relax. The island's other claim to fame is its fine dining, considered among the best in the Caribbean.
The French influence make one think of the French Riviera - elegant designer boutiques, topless beaches, pulsating nightlife and waterfront bars. St. Barts even has its own Riviera-like festival calendar, including food, music and film festivals. |

ACCURACY OF LISTINGS:
To the best of AIR's knowledge the information and photographs on the listings are accurate but are not guaranteed. Rates, availability and conditions are subject to change without notice. RENTERS must check with AIR about specific items of importance to them.
RENTAL FEE:
Varies from villa to villa.
RENTAL PROCEDURE:
Once a house is chosen, the rental price discussed, and the rental confirmed with the Owner or their agent, a lease or confirmation of the arrangements is immediately emailed to the Guest. Each Island and Owner has different procedures for payment so please ask when making your arrangements.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
This varies from Island to Island, and Owner to Owner, so please ask when confirming your arrangements.

Islands are surrounded by water. There are BUGS, and sometimes MOLD and MILDEW. Even the most luxurious villas are subject to nature's ways, and surprises can happen. THE OWNER, NOT ALL ISLAND RENTALS, is responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of their home. Should problems occur please call the OWNER or their PROPERTY MANAGER. Unless specifically permitted or indicated, ABSOLUTELY NO ANIMALS are allowed in the villas. This includes animals belonging to visitors.
