You are on the All Island Rentals St. Lucia Info Page.

St. Lucia has been inhabited since long before colonial times, and its cultural treasures are a fascinating mélange of its rich past and its many different traditions. The island's people have earned a well-deserved reputation for their warmth and charm, and the island itself is dotted with aged fortresses, small villages, and open-air markets.

It is an island of great natural beauty reminiscent of the South Pacific, is a British Commonwealth country located in the Caribbean. It lies and north of Trinidad and Tobago about 21 miles south of Martinique and 26 miles north-east of St. Vincent. It is 27 miles long and 14 miles wide, covering an area of 238 sq miles and with a population of around 150,000. Within the tropical zone in the path of the north-east trade winds it has a typical sub tropical maritime climate of year round sunny, warm weather, and even when it does rain, it is warm rain and generally does not last.

Any time is a good time to visit St. Lucia. The high season is generally regarded as between mid-November and March, the driest months, but the island now attracts visitors by air and from cruise ships year round.

St. Lucia manages to house an incredibly diverse landscape. Along the west coast you'll find breath-taking steep mountains, lush tropical forests, beautiful green hills, jagged cliffs and charming beaches. The Pitons south of Soufriere (Gros Piton and Petit Piton) and a volcano (the world's only drive-in volcanic crater) are the most famous sights on the island.

There is a broad array of exciting and exotic activities available on St. Lucia. The island's steep coastlines and lovely reefs offer excellent snorkeling and scuba diving. The rainforest preserves of St. Lucia's mountainous interior, where wild orchids, giant ferns, and birds of paradise flourish, are one of the Caribbean's finest locales for hiking and bird watching. Brilliantly-plumed tropical birds abound, including endangered species like the indigenous St. Lucia parrot.

The island also possesses excellent facilities for golf, tennis, sailing, and a host of other leisure pursuits. You may also indulge in magical tours in glass bottom boats, rainforest tours, hiking or biking over forest trails to waterfalls where you can cool off, a visit to traditional villages and watch traditional food prepared while listening to native bands. You might also want to consider sitting with a cool drink and reading or doing absolutely nothing!
